Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026

BoatVault is built to be private. BoatVault has no servers, no accounts, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

What is stored, and where

Your vessels, tracked systems, engine-hour readings, service records, maintenance schedules, seasonal checklists, documents, expiring items (like registration and insurance), and fuel entries are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you have iCloud enabled, they sync through your own private iCloud account so they are available on your other devices. We never receive, see, or have access to this data. You can export everything to CSV, or delete it, at any time from within the app.

Documents and photos

Documents and photos you attach to a vessel, system, or service record (registration cards, insurance papers, receipts, manuals) are stored on your device, and in your private iCloud if sync is enabled, alongside the rest of your data. They are never uploaded to us and we have no access to them.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are handled by Apple through your App Store account. BoatVault receives only the transaction status needed to unlock Pro features; we never see your payment details.

No third-party SDKs, no ads, no analytics

BoatVault does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK of any kind. We do not collect personal information, we do not track you, we do not show ads, and we do not sell or share any data. BoatVault does not require an account, an email address, or a sign-in of any kind to use any feature, free or Pro.

Children

BoatVault is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children; no personal information is collected from anyone regardless of age.
